Refurbish of Astro Courts, 2010

After five years of use, it has become clear that the three Astro turf courts where not draining as well as when first installed, leading to issues with consistency of bounce and generally “heavy” ball response. The committee has had an expert assess the courts, which have been found to be in good condition from a wear point of view but poor in terms of the amount of debris that had mixed with the sand, leading to the problems described.

The solution was to have most of the sand lifted, filtered and re-laid, this can be seen in the photo below.
